Fairphone Moments lets you personalize your minimalist home screen and notification rules to match your daily routines. You can easily create custom moments, select featured apps, and manage allowed contact rules directly on your phone.

How to create a new moment

You can set up to six unique moments on your Fairphone, featuring up to five apps per moment screen.

  1. Flip the physical switch down to launch Fairphone Moments.
  2. Tap the action button located directly under the date on your home screen to open the moment switcher.
  3. Tap to create a custom moment from scratch, or select one of four pre-configured presets:
    • Deep Focus: Pre-selects productivity apps for focused task completion.
    • Journey: Pre-selects navigation and music apps for travel.
    • Recharge: Pre-selects podcast and meditation apps for downtime.
    • Quality Time: Pre-selects camera and photo apps for spending time with family and friends.
  4. Tap the settings icon next to your selected moment in the moment switcher to adjust its name, icon, wallpaper, featured apps, blue light filter, monochrome mode, and notification rules.

How to manage visible apps

Choose up to five apps to display on your moment launcher and reorder them for quick access.

Work profile apps can be added and display a work profile icon. If a work profile app is paused when opened, a pop-up prompt asks if you want to unpause it.

Featuring an app on your home screen gives you quick access to open it, but does not allow the app to send notifications unless added to your notification rules.

How to adjust allowed contacts and app notifications

  • Allowed contacts: By default, notification rules permit only starred contacts. Messages and calls from contacts starred in your standard Android Contacts app will always break through paused notifications.
  • Contact rule priority: Contact rules take priority over app rules. If an allowed contact sends a message using an app like Signal (even if Signal is not on your allowed app list), the message will still go through.
  • Repeat callers: Enabled by default. If the same phone number calls twice within a 15-minute period, the second call will ring through regardless of contact inclusion rules. You can adjust this rule per moment.
  • Allowed app notifications: Add specific apps to your moment settings if you want to receive general push notifications from them while the moment is active.
  • Wearables: Fairphone Moments uses standard Android Do Not Disturb logic, so wearable and smartwatch notification behavior will depend on your specific device model.

How to change a moment name or icon

Open the moment switcher, tap the settings icon next to the moment you want to edit, tap the pencil icon to edit the name, and tap the icon to cycle through available icon options.
